SAT FEB 24 - POLAR PLUNGE - For the second year, Plungers will “bear” the cold waters at Acworth Beach at 11am (plunge is at 1:30pm) to support the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia in the ninth annual Polar Plunge fundraiser. Participants/Teams of all ages are welcome and must raise a minimum of $50 to plunge. All plungers will receive a commemorative Plunge long sleeve t-shirt. MON FEB 26 MARIETTA BUSINESS ASSOCIATION 11:30 - The February MBA meeting will feature Sam Olens speaking about Marietta and Cobb County Past, Present, Future - through the eyes of Sam Olens. Sam has dedicated his career to public service, first serving as a the Cobb County Commissioner, then as Chairman of the Cobb County Commission. He went on to serve as the Attorney General of the State of Georgia, and more recently as President of Kennesaw State University. AT MARCH 3 FREE TREES AT Marietta Farmer's Market - In an effort to promote awareness of Georgia's Arbor Day, Marietta Tree Keepers will give away “Free Trees” on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 9am-12noon or until we run out of free tree seedlings at the Farmer's Market on Marietta Square (weather permitting). The variety of trees are Dogwoods, Northern Red Oaks and Redbuds. Free literature will also be available on selecting trees, caring for trees and maintaining trees. This event is free to the public.

AT MAR 3 SENSORY FRIENDLY CONCERT - 2:00 pm.The Georgia Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with Autism Speaks will present the third annual Sensory Friendly Concert at 2pm on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Marietta Performing Arts Center. This event is designed especially for persons with autism and their families. As a component of the GSO’s educational and outreach programs, this concert will provide audience members the ability to experience great orchestral music without any of the constraints of a standard performance. During this 50 minute program, audience members are free to move about, dance, and make noise. AT MAR 3 KENNESAW HISTORICAL SOCIETY 2:00 pm FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF KENNESAW upstairs at the Fellowship hall. The next lecture in the Kennesaw Historical Society presentation series will be “Georgia’s Gold Rush.” Jose Santamaria, Executive Director of Tellus Science Museum, will share the fascinating story of the first major gold rush in the United States. The event is open to the public and is free.

AT MAR 3 CASINO NIGHT FUNDRAISER 6- 10 pm at the Kennesaw Community Center; sponsored by the Kennesaw Acworth Optimist Club.
